Today will be one of the coolest days we've has in a long time. If we don't get to 60 degrees, it will be the first time since May 5th when we had a 55 degree high.

Cooler than average temps are expected for this afternoon with highs in the upper 50s to about 60.

Tonight will be quite cold across the state! Clear, calm and chilly temps are expected with a frost advisory.

The clear skies will allow for a possible vibrant viewing of the Aurora Borealis in our skies after sunset. A large solar storm was reported yesterday and the shower of charged ions may be extensive enough for this to happen. Forecasting the exact when and where is very difficult.

It's also looking more and more like fall with high color in Eastern CT and high and peak colors in the NW Hills.

As we head into next week there looks to be a few scattered showers Sunday night and throughout the morning on Monday. After that, we're drier and cooler.

Looking at two of the many hazards associated with MILTON, wind gusts over 100 mph were observed, and 1 day rain totals were close to 10" in some areas. The over 100 tornado warnings yesterday was also off the charts, with many reports of damage from the outbreak.
