Thanksgiving Forecast Update

After a Thanksgiving soaker we will be drying out through the weekend. Thursday's rain should be the last measurable precipitation of the month which will make meteorological fall the driest on record in the Hartford area. Meteorological fall is defined as September, October, and November.
Autumn 2024 comes in with 3.47" of precipitation beating 1908 for the driest on record.

If you're traveling Friday there won't be any major issues across the northeast. There could be a few snow showers particularly in the higher terrain Friday afternoon. One exception will be in parts of New York where extremely heavy lake effect snow is expected off Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
Locally, temperatures will be in the 40s Friday with partly sunny skies. A few towns could see a flurry or snow shower in the afternoon.
Temperatures will drop for Saturday and Sunday. A cold weather pattern will set up across New England with overnight lows in the 20s and highs near 40. It's going to be a very chilly start to December!
