Cooling Temperatures This Weekend

Saturday Weather Blog

Our extremely dry stretch of weather continues right into the weekend.

High pressure will build in from the west through the weekend which has been a semi-permanent feature locally over the last 2 months.

After the passage of a cold front early Saturday, wind will continue the high fire danger across the state. The National Weather Service continues a Red Flag Warning for the state today, indicating that any fires that ignite can spread rapidly.

Wind gusts will average between 15 and 25 mph through the day today. Some hill towns could top 30 mph.

Cooler air will also settle into the region by Sunday and Monday with highs dropping into the 50s.

While temperatures will be a bit cooler Sunday and Monday, a rapid warming trend is still in the forecast in the days leading up to Halloween.

With no substantial rain in the forecast we are still on track for the driest 2 month stretch on record.
