Monday Weather Blog

Monday was the first full day of fall and it was a gray, cool day across the state. Any morning sun gave way to increasing clouds earlithis morning and a few sprinkles may fall this afternoon and this evening. We've seen only a few showers in western and especially southwestern Connecticut.

It's been 15 straight days without measurable rainfall in most of Connecticut and the CT DEEP has issued HIGH to VERY HIGH wildfire danger. Be very careful with anything that could start a fire.

Some minor coastal flooding is possible during high tide this afternoon. Tides have been running quite high over the past several days.

Tonight is a seasonably cool night with many waking up in the 50s Tuesday morning. A few towns will start the day in the 40s.

Another cloudy day is on the way for Tuesday. It looks dry but dreary.

The midweek brings a better rain chance Wednesday into Thursday.

The tropics have been strangely quiet lately, but this will change this week. A lot of data point to "Helene" forming and moving toward Florida...A lot of things can and will happen with this potential system, including the chance of a strong hurricane impacting the Gulf Coast.

Monday PM update on what looks to become "Helene"
