Snow continues through the afternoon and evening hours, so expect some slowdowns and slick spots during your PM commute. We should see a lull in activity after about 6-7 p.m.

Some of those snow showers could linger into Saturday morning, between a dusting and an inch of snow looks possible. Localized amounts could be up to 3" of fluff, especially in higher elevation areas and eastern Connecticut.

If today is your day to travel around the region, the only issues should be out across New York and Pennsylvania, on I-90 or I-80. Light rain or snow could slow you down a bit in New Jersey, NYC and near Cape Cod. Boston will also see a little snow through the rest of Friday.

Tomorrow marks the first day of winter, and it will feel like the new season with highs in the 20s and low 30s. By Sunday morning, the wind chill will fall below 0! Winds will be gusting up to 25 miles per hour early on Sunday, so conditions will feel a bit bitter. The northwest hill towns will feel the worst of it.

The next system worth watching could bring us some rain/snow showers on Christmas Eve and into early Christmas Day. We're going to have to monitor the timing and temperatures associated with this system, so stay tuned!
