A mix of clouds and sun can be expected this morning across the state with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing by afternoon and evening.

A storm moving in from the southwest will produce periods of rain tomorrow and tomorrow night. Some of the rain will be heavy which may lead to a flood threat. A Flood Watch is in effect for parts of Connecticut.

Model data supports another 1"-3" of rain, possibly more. This will lead to more poor drainage and street flooding. We will monitor smaller rivers and streams as well.

Fortunately, this rain appears to move out by the time Mother's Day weekend arrives. Saturday is not a clear-cut forecast as some data points toward clearing, while other data keeps some rain around for part of Saturday.

Inland Connecticut will stay a bit cloudier on Saturday, then clear nicely Mother's Day. The shoreline will be clearer earlier Saturday, and will be just as pleasant on Sunday.
