Monday's record high temperature in the Hartford area was broken when the mercury reached 86F in Windsor Locks. This breaks the old record of 82F set 104 years ago in 1920!

This is also the warmest it has been on record so late in the calendar year!

The warm weather will stick around for the coming days with temperatures in the 80s Tuesday and 70s Wednesday. Keep in mind the average high is 62F. Sunny skies are expected both days.

A cold front will move through Thursday which will drop the temperature to more seasonable levels by the weekend and early next week.

Even with the cooler temperatures no appreciable rain is in the forecast for the next 10 days which will lead to an elevated fire danger and continue to increase our recent rainfall deficit.

After carrying a surplus of rain for the past couple of years, we remain very dry so far this fall season. We could use some rain, but besides a shower with a cold front Wednesday night, the dry pattern continues.
