Wednesday Weather Blog
We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and start to Hanukkah! The nice weather we had Wednesday will carry over to Thursday and Friday. It will be cool, though, so be sure to grab/pack the winter hat, gloves, and thick coat as you step outside.
Thursday morning will dawn bright in most spots. There will be some cloud cover across eastern Connecticut, as a pocket of moisture moves off the Atlantic Ocean and through eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It will be a chilly start Thursday, with temperatures around 17 degrees. You may want to wait an hour or two after sunrise to step out, if you're trying to avoid shivering!

Thursday afternoon will be filled with a mostly sunny sky and seasonal temperatures. The average high temperature this time of the year is 38 degrees (at Bradley Int'l Airport in Windsor Locks) and we're forecasting a high of 38 degrees!
Thursday and Friday will remain dry, while yielding a partly to mostly sunny sky. Soak in that sunshine, because this weekend will be very cloudy. On Saturday, thickening clouds will drop light precipitation, some of which may fall as a freezing drizzle or a freezing rain shower. At this time, we don't expect ice accumulation, however it will be a cold day with high temperatures in the 30's.
On Sunday and into Monday, a larger swath of heavy rain is forecast to arrive. This will have the potential to give us up to an inch of rain through Monday afternoon. We still need the precipitation, in terms of the existing drought, but it will be falling in the form of rain and not snow.
