Friday is off to a frosty start with calm winds, clear skies and cold temperatures. We'll warm into the 30s again this afternoon as clouds increase ahead of our next precipitation chance.

Since temperatures are so cold this morning and they won't lift too far above freezing this afternoon, there is a threat for freezing rain through Saturday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for all of Connecticut--excluding the shoreline-- from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for the potential of slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges.

A light glaze of ice is possible through Saturday morning, which is not enough to knock out power lines or anything like that, but it is enough to create slick spots on the ground.

By Saturday afternoon, temperatures will warm well above average, and we'll track a decent amount of rain through Monday. Heavier rainfall is possible late Sunday into Monday, with 0.5-1.5" of rain possible.

Temperatures are expected to warm through Monday and remain above average through New Year's Day. After Wednesday's rain chance, we'll cool back to near average conditions ahead of the first weekend of 2025.
