Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of Connecticut

New severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued for Tolland, and Windham counties until 11:30 p.m. Those storms have some winds as strong as 80 miles per hour.

Severe thunderstorm warnings remain in effect New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties until 11 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the entire state through 12 a.m.

A strong line of storms moved west to east through the night Wednesday, taking down trees and powerlines.

Eversource was reporting more than 36,000 customers without power as of 10:30 p.m.

Slowly it will clear, and Thursday will be less humid.

We are in for a treat of beautiful weather on Friday, then we will have a few storms on Saturday and Sunday.
