Snow changes over to sleet, freezing rain for most of Connecticut

Snow fell for several hours Saturday evening before beginning to transition to sleet and freezing rain for parts of the state overnight.

Multiple religious organizations have canceled Sunday services and several cities and towns have parking bans in place. You can see the full list here.

Two to four inches of snow was forecasted for the state through midnight, before the transition to ice.

Ice accretions could be near a quarter inch through Sunday morning, especially northwest of Hartford.

Precipitation will be all rain by Sunday afternoon--some showers heavy at times before ending Sunday evening.

A High Wind Watch is in effect for Sunday night and Monday due to the potential for wind gusts over 50 mph expected.

The combination of strong winds and any ice on trees or powerlines could lead to power outages Sunday evening - Monday.
